We have gathered the questions we hear most often, in a simple Q&A format.
Is there a time limit?
There is no time limit for any of the disciplines. Please enjoy the race at your own pace. *Some traffic restrictions may be lifted along the way.
Can beginners take part? Is there a race briefing in Japanese?
Yes, beginners can take part with confidence. Please watch the online race briefing provided by the organizer. If this is your first time in this event, you must also attend the on-site race briefing (in Japanese). It takes about 15 minutes and covers the event overview and the course.
Are rental bikes available?
We are currently planning to offer this. Details will be updated on this page as they are finalized.
Will my race number and other items be sent to me in advance?
No. You will receive them on-site (at Ala Moana Beach Park). Don't forget a photo ID (a copy of your passport is fine). Before picking up your athlete kit (race number set), you must watch and attend the race briefing.
Can someone else pick up my athlete kit on my behalf?
No. You must come in person.
Are refunds available if I cancel?
No. Entry fees are non-refundable after registration. Please also note that if the event is canceled due to an earthquake, wind or flood damage, an incident, an epidemic, or similar, no refund of participation fees or handling charges will be made.
Is there parking on race day?
Parking is available at Ala Moana Beach Park (Magic Island), but as spaces are limited, parking tickets are handed out at the athlete kit pickup counter (first come, first served). There are also paid parking lots a 15–20 minute walk from the venue.
Should I get overseas travel insurance?
The Honolulu Triathlon does not include insurance covering participants' injuries or illness. We recommend enrolling in overseas travel insurance before you travel.
